The climate of the our country is changing. Good or Bad I can't change it.
The good is that my company is secure and I will be getting a bonus in tomorrow's pay check. That is very good.
More good is my workload. As I mentioned yesterday, the funded development is rolling in. We got more signed Statements of Work after I posted yesterday. Good Times! Busy, like a crazy person, but still good.
To Write or Not To Write

Things that are changing. The internet has revolutionized the way we communicate and conduct business. In a heartbeat something can go viral on the internet. It doesn't have to be correct it just has be in the right place at the right time.
Given the mighty power of the internet and how much our company utilizes the internet there's been a clashing of the minds. Since my company develops, markets, sells and supports a suite of applications that are web based the 'heads' keep an eye on the internet and make sure our image is maintained at all times.
Fair enough and that's never been a problem. The company tracks our blogs based on key searches. They don't read them each day but they have a way that pulls back and logs info based on search criteria. I don't mind since very few people know the actual company I work for. But, there's always a chance that people will put two and two together.
The problem of the internet has popped up since the election. To be frank, the Obama supporters have been called on the carpet over and over. They have been stopped in their tracks as they were on the verge of someone suing them. Anyway, now it's become a discrimination thing. They say if they cannot voice their opinions then no one should. OK, we have an internet policy and now it is being rewritten.
A friend of mine, who's in Senior Management, let me know that the air in the room is to take the easiest way out and forbid political blogging. They are a private company and they can make policies how they see fit. It's a shame that the left extremists have brought this on. But, I'm not surprised. I watched their behavior during the election and it was extreme.
So, if the new policy comes to fruition I will shut down my political blog. This does not mean I have to stop discussing politics but it will have to be done in a different way. I don't mind. Maybe it's a violation of my free speech. But, given all the good stuff this company does I'm alright with it.
I like my job, the overall culture is very relaxed, benefits are OK. Thank goodness I have them and I have a pay check. We'll see how it goes. I suspect some Obama supporters will be placed on a disciplinary track if they don't get a grip.
I'll post a notice on my political blog if I have to shut it down. Right now, it's looking that way. I'm not mad. I'm not surprised given what has been going on. Bottom line. My job is #1. Blogging is just a bit lower on the list of priorities. None of my other blogs are at risk so no changes will be made to any of them.
So, I'll continue to enjoy my quarterly bonuses and the ability to work from home in my jammies ![]()

glad your company doing good and get some rest now chris
I think you have done things right by having your own political blog where anyone who wants to read you can. I dislike those who are forcing their opinions on everyone. That is not necessary. I hope you get to keep your Blog.
Regards, Bill
