Darn it. The A/C and heating guy came out and all is well except for one thing. One of the units needs a new defroster board. Of course it's 6 months out of warranty. That's Sears for ya.
So, I have to come up with $388 dollars to get this installed. It is needed since the whole thing will freeze up without it. I have a heat pump and it is needed.
Thank goodness for an emergency fund. But, that does limit some things like fixing the upstairs toilet. That will have to wait. All things in time.
Our company meeting was good. Our company is conservative with their spending and because of that we hit our expected numbers and there are no predicted layoffs. We are in good shape because of fiscal conservatism.
I'll be cooking early today and getting the domestic stuff off my plate. I don't want any chores to get in the way of the time I spend with Mom. I will post the pics and recipe maybe this afternoon or tomorrow morning. I hope it tastes as good as it sounds. We'll see. I've not cooked much with artichoke hearts.
I've updated almost all my other blogs so have fun with the stuff I found for you.

I have never cooked artichoke so I will be watching for the recipe with great interest. Sorry about the emergency taking the funds.:) Liz
It's always something.
Darn, I'm sorry to hear that. :( Thank goodness for emergency funds, though.
I'm looking for those new recipes this weekend, sounds interesting. I don't know a lot about artichoke except I hear they are healthy.
Enjoy your visit with your mom!
We like artichokes. We keep them around mixed with mushrooms and marinated in oil and vinegar. We also cook with the hearts. Libby likes to make pasta with artichokes, garlic, whole tomatos, and a lot of cheeses.
Have a good weekend.
Regards, Bill
Hope the cooking turn sout well and have a good time with your Mom.
Hate you have to spend money. It is always always something.

Sorry to hear about the unexpected expense. It seems like it's always something!
I hope you got all that cooking done and will soon get that heat pump fixed. Hugs, helen
Sounds like a lot of cooking...and having an emergency fund is a good thing...sometimes we have to use it.
Hugs,

My daughter and Paul loves artichokes...Me? Oh not so much. We refuse to buy anything from Sears for that same reason. It seems anything we've bought from them in the past would end up breaking down not long after the warranty expired. Sorry to hear you have that added expense. (Hugs)Indigo
