Fun Stuff and Good Food

Gee, I woke up this morning and just couldn't get it in gear.  I'm a bit better now.  I don't know why I'm so tired today. Oh, well.  I'll just have to get over it and keep going.

I'm glad you guys like the Darby video. She is a mess.  But, she's my mess!  LOL

Today is going to be very hot and we have an unhealthy air warning already.  To have this now, is odd.  It seems too early in the season.  Oh well, not much I can do about it.  I can only hold myself accountable and try not to do any polluting activities.

I'm at home today and glad I don't have to go out in this weather.  But, the bad thing is I am missing my walks.  So, I've decided to start back on my Pilates.  That really does help and I do have to get a bit more exercise.  In summer I just don't like to go out very much. I don't like the heat. Besides, I'm too fair and I burn very easy.

I posted a new recipe over at Kitchen Chatter.  I'm sure you'll enjoy it.  You can add real meat or not and it will still be tasty.

Now, here's something I found that is pretty cool.  I posted about it over at Keep It Cheap (yesterday's post).  Here's the post in case you don't want to go to my other blog.

This is a free service offered by Hippopost. I have tried this out and it's simple and registration (it's free) is painless. All you do is upload the photo you want to use, choose the orientation, add your text, address it, preview it and send it. That's it! Easy Peasy!

Once you send the post card you will receive an email notification letting you know the order was received and will mail out in about 2 days. One thing to keep in mind; you do need to use high resolution photos so they will print nicely. If they are not high enough you will receive a warning message. But, you always have the option to continue. That's what I did. I didn't have a picture that was high enough resolution to use. I tried it anyway.

They even have some stock photos you can pick from if you want to just give it a quick try.

I think this is fun and it's a great way to plan ahead and take some high resolution, fun pics and send them out as birthday cards etc. Another way to save some change. My niece has a birthday coming up next month and now I know how I will send her a nice, personalized birthday card.

If you have used this service let me know what you think. If not, give it a try. It's free and that's a beautiful thing.

Here's a clip from their web site.  Click here or on the image to get started.

NOTE:  I thought of a cool idea to use the post card service for.  I created a postcard that's a recipe card. The photo on the front and the recipe on the back.  Very cool and I can't wait to see how it turns out.  The only limitation is you can't use it for complicated or long recipes.  You are limited to about 14 lines of text.  Once I receive my two cards in the mail, I'll let you know how they turned out.
